A couple of recent acquisitions. I’ve not seen a Zeiss LTM conversion using the focussing helicoid from an Elmar / Industar before. Still need to get out with it but apparently rangefinder coupled and able to achieve infinity focus.

The second lens is I believe a genuine LTM 5cm f2 Zeiss Sonnar. It didn’t sell in the 42nd Leitz Photographica auction in September 2023 where it was described as “from a small batch of 200 post war lenses.” I bought the lens at the recent Flints auction.

The second, collapsible Sonnar is listed by Thiele in “Fabrikationsbuch Photooptik II Carl Zeiss Jena” in a batch of 200 items with serial numbers 2805401 - 2805600 for the Leica and said to be produced on 09/13/1947.

Thank you - I don’t have access to Thiele so any information is most welcome

I have this 35mm Biogon in Leica screw, but it has the focussing mount off a 50mm lens, it focusses correctly. The person I bought it off said it was found in a photographic studio in Alexandria Egypt that had been closed for 50+ years. It has a blue haze inside but it makes very nice pictures on infrared film, my favourite infrared lens.
