Which 90mm Summicron with collabsible hood are you talking about?

AFAIK all the early (1959 - 1980) versions take a slip-on 63mm cap. The 1980 - 1998 take a 55mm clip-on as does the post-1998 90mm Summicron APO.

In which case it would seem to be one which takes the slip-on 63mm cap.

From the serial number the lens dates to 1973 so you might enjoy looking through Ken Rockwell's post which discusses lenses produced during this era;

The original Leitz/Leica item should be catalog number 14133 (63mm hardish rubber slip-on cap)

I have also seen (and bought, and used) some samples of that "stovepipe" 90 Summicron version, that came with a felt/velvet-lined stamped-aluminum slip-on cap, (similar but not necessarily identical to, this item - and in both silver or black paint.)

Leitz/Leica was thrashing around a bit in that era, trying to cut costs in the face of the Japanese camera tsunami, and the lens caps were one area where they experimented with different designs in close succession.

Eventually settling for a long while on the flat, clip-in black plastic caps ~1984-2005, with a few E39 metal slip-ons remaining for, e.g. the revived 50mm Elmar-M (1994) and the 90mm Macro-Elmar-M (2003). Slip-on metal caps in other sizes began a resurgence with the 2007 introduction of the Summarit lenses.

If "Leica authenticity" is not required, Kaiser Fototechnik produces a full range of slip-on plastic caps in all mm diameters, including:

A 63.7 hood cap # 14124 for Summicron 90/2 and Elmarit 135/2.8

BTW (and I think I agree with lct on this) - that large double-gauss 90 is actually very slightly "cleaner" at f/2.0 than its smaller, lighter "Tele-Sonnar-type" 1980/v.3 5-element successor. Tiny bit more resolution, not necessarily more edge-contrast.

But at the cost of an extra 100 grams or so to haul around, which is why it is often very well-priced.
