I don't think it was very popular at the time, they must have found some surplus. I did not know that it was possible to buy such things from Russia presently (legally, that is)

when i went to the zenit showroom in Moscow, they told me not many people wanted the camera, it was the F1.0 lens that sold out within days

At first it was impossible to buy this camera because it was out of stock. Then this camera began to be used as a gift item (so you can't just buy it either) and was given, for example, when buying an expensive car. Sometimes you can see used camera on the Internet for about $3k-4k.

looks like, but it aint, its a collaboration tween leica and Zenit
