lct Posted November 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) LPC on M11 and UWA M-mount lenses Leica Perspective Control (LPC) is said to work only with 16mm and longer FL lenses. In fact non only the WATE at 16mm but also my CV 15/4.5 v2 coded as WATE works normally on the M11 with LPC on. As i understand it, it works because the FL is faked this way, the camera believing it is a 16mm lens. Do others have similar experience with 15mm, 12mm or 10mm lenses? Just curious. lct Posted November 18, 2024 Author Share #2 Posted November 18, 2024 Just a snap to show what LPC can do with a 15mm lens (CV 15/4.5 v2) pen coded as WATE (16mm). I wonder if and how LPC can work with a wider lens coded as such. I have no experience with those lenses but i'm temped by a CV 12/5.6. Any idea? lct Posted November 25, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted November 25, 2024 12mm snaps with and w/o LPC below. Heliar 12/5.6 coded as WATE (4/16mm) Cropping done by the camera. Framing feels accurate with the Visoflex 2 and the resulting field of view looks closer to 16mm than 12mm at first glance. I did no metering though. FWIW. Jim-St Posted December 4, 2024 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2024 Thanks for this, lct : very interesting. I don’t have an M11 (yet) but I do have the CV 12 and 15’s and although it is of course possible to do perspective corrections back at the computer, there are clearly advantages in being able to adjust at the point of shooting, getting one’s camera and one’s self optimally aligned so that one can take into account the ways in which the corrected/ cropped image will lie in the frame, etc As one that shoots a lot of cityscapes and architecture I’d find this very useful.
