I have had my M11-P for nearly a year now and I have yet to have a freeze with mine. I am on the current software but the previous version was also without issue, for me. I use mine frequently as in 3-4 days per week. Buy the camera and enjoy it, I sold my M10-R and I don't have any regrets. The M11-P is a fantastic rangefinder!

I was one of those unlucky ones and all three of my M11s (two M11s and one M11-P) froze very often. However, Leica did a good job and the latest firmware versions are very stable and I did not encounter any freezes. If there are any complaints, they are minor.

I had minor issues with my M11P, but with latest firmware it's all gone. I think people make their judgement according to what they see on forums which is not always right. You have to remember, bet in 9 out of 10 cases people would only post negative stuff while others just experience no issues. At the same time, same people comment hundreds of times and somehow you get the illusion it's so wide spread... while it's not in reality.

This is making me want to get an M11-P.

That price tag, though... 😵‍💫

Go buy the M11P it's fantastic and I made thus post in a similar thread this week:

'Both are great cameras (M10R & M11P) but I don't miss my M10R BP & M10M at all now that I have the M11P and M11M, they're just so much better in a number of areas and the 10 series feels dated. Of course 10's can still take really great shots but I think most people haven't experienced freezing with the 11 to any great extent if at all (and for the small minority that did it's largely fixed now).

I thought I might miss the bottom plate thing but I don't and the battery life is so much better plus USB-C charging. Menu's are in line with the current SL and Q's, plus you have the option to choose file sizes, 3 crop settings, the Visoflex is so much better for anything under 28mm or with a wide aperture and I find myself not having to take as many lenses with me as  it's 60mb - given the crop settings e.g. a 28mm can be 36mm (1.3 & 39mb) and 50mm (1.8 & 18mb). File transfer to the FOTOS app is faster and more reliable (not as fast though as the SL3 and Q3). I also really like the internal storage approach so that you have a back up now as opposed to a single SD card.

They are both great camera's, I think it just depends on all the things that have been added to the M11 series and how important they are to you. For example if the only aspect is battery life then you can just purchase an extra one for the M10R.'

Hi Folks, which SD card are you prefer ? Sandisk or Lexar ?

The first gen Lexar cards had some issues with the 'lock' feature jamming after a while, equally both brands suffer from numerous fakes online which initially dented reputations. The current Lexar's are great and I use both brands in my SL's, Q3's and M11's (mention this as the Lexar cards in the link below work well with all) - my favourite at the moment is this Lexar card which represents the best value/fast enough in the UK (8k video - not that I use that feature much) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B2PB84MD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title (Lexar Gold Series Professional 1800x 256GB UHS-II U3 SDXC) at £65 each compared to the SanDisk equivalent in the UK at £101 (280 mb/s).

If you go one up from this SanDisk card to the 300mb/s version it's c£280 (SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO SDXC card, SD Card, V90 Memory Card, 8K, 4K up to 300mb/s MB/s,UHS-II, Class 10, U3) and frankly I can't tell the difference to the Lexar card above in my SL3 and Q3, let alone the less demanding (fps) M11.
