SL2 Broken buttons

My SL2 which I bought new in 2021 has unresponsive Play/FN/Menu buttons. From the beginning the Play button had a slight click when pressed, which I thought odd but lived with. Now the three don't work most of the time. The Play button has no "spring" ; it is flat. The others are intermittent at best, mostly unresponsive. 

Is this something anyone else has experienced? Is there a solution other than sending it to repair (it is beyond warranty)? I should add that this camera is lightly used. I am mostly an M user.

It hasn't happened to me but my SL2-S, bought at launch and used intensively, has a Play button that is occasionally stiff and clicks. It accumulates crud more than the other two and I occasionally clean the edges with a pin.

I have tried to clean the edges of any tiny bits and have blown them with canned air (very careful that no propellant escaped) and they are still not working correctly. Any other suggestions?
