M6Cron Posted October 28, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey guys, just got my q3 43 and trying to set up the rear AF button. Any source like video or written document you guys can recommend? Been shooting rear AF going back to early 90's and feel completely out of my comfort zone using the front shutter button. Thanks! SrMi Posted October 28, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 28, 2024 Here is the copy of my answers from DPR: It is impossible to do BBF with Q3, as you cannot disable focusing with the shutter button. You can assign AF-L to a rear button, but that is not very useful as the focus gets unlocked once you take a picture, change the aperture, or use any dial or button. MF works well with Q3. Yeah the BBAF is pretty useless on this camera. Oh well I'll just adjust and shoot the conventional way.
