Leica Q116 AF lens lock faulty

Hello all, my Q116 has a fault in that the AF lock switch on the lens has failed, leading to an inconvenience when taking photographs. I’ve got into the habit of simply checking its position with a finger on the focus tab each time I use the camera. The Leica repair centre here in Melbourne has looked at it and to fix it the whole lens will have to replaced and I was wondering if this a rare occurrence or not. As stated, it’s an inconvenience more than anything as I’m not solely an AF user. Thank you

My Q is approaching its 8th birthday, and I've used it almost continually since getting it, carrying it almost everywhere.  I've had no problems with the AF lock switch.

Same as above…I’ve had my Q for six years, thousands of frames and no issues.
