davidmknoble Posted October 15, 2024 Share #1  Posted October 15, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love this lens, and several have said they go fast and cannot find them. https://classic.leica-camera.com/en/Leica-Summicron-S-100mm-f-2-ASPH-11056/11056SH-4307501 This is information only, I don't receive anything for this and it is not my lens.
Advertisement Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hi davidmknoble, Take a look here Since some have asked, there is an S-100 for sale at Leica Classic. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Tirpitz666 Posted October 16, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted October 16, 2024 Thank you, I know here is basically anathema to ask here, but how does it compare to the (much cheaper but nonetheless higly regarded as well) Hassy 110 F2? Anyone has ever done a comparison of sort?

The look is completely different. The Hasselblad lens has the classic 1970s Planar look, along with the Contax/Rollei 1.4/85 and Zeiss Superspeeds for cine. It only gets sharp past f:5.6, and even then it's not as sharp as S lenses are wide-open. Don't get me wrong, I love my 110 for portraits, but I had to rule it out for a recent project where it didn't mix well with S lenses. The Sonnar 2.8/150 for Hasselblad is significantly better, but even then it lacks the pixel-level crispness of the S lenses.
