Just a question to the owners of M11-D out of my own curiosity and nothing else...

I noticed in some other post that some people might have received this camera with an older version 2.1.1 and that they could not see 2.1.2 on fotos app for an update. Now obviously that is redundant with the release of 2.1.3

I had a very peculiar experience at one of the Leica shops where I was planning to buy M11-d and the steel rim. I didn't buy it eventually and I've posted a review about it so don't want to repeat that here.

But anyway, I noticed that the camera box had a date in June which was much before the announcement of the camera.

I am curious to know from the current owners what month does it say on yours? I could've just bought the camera from that shop but after being through the experience of that shop, I just had a bad feeling!

The announcement was already rumored for the first half of 2024 and many assume that Leica delayed this date to wait for a more stable firmware. Additionally, the output of the Leica factory is not that huge so production had to start much earlier than shipment. Last, it is most likely that produced cameras had been updated with the most current software once available.

All together, your experience clearly matches the flow of production - software update in factory - shipment to dealer - purchase date. I cannot see any relation to your lens experience.

Thanks. Yes, lens was a separate issue but I was just puzzled with the date on camera box.

True that they have limited capacity so they were manufactured and software updated afterwards, makes sense.
