This is just normal sample variation. Pick another Q3 43 and you may find it's actually a 50mm. Nothing to be concerned by.

That doesn’t concern me either, I only posted the video because  the Profile & case information could be useful for readers

OK. Let's look at this.

1. The Q3-28 has been measured accurately at 26.8mm. Within the tolerances to call it a 28mm. This is after corrections that are part of the design.

2. The M 50 Summilux is actually a 51-52.4mm depending on the release year. It's marked in code on the lens barrel. Have fun looking that up. So no, Leica doesn't mark lenses exactly. It rounds the numbers like every one else.

3. How do we know it's the zoom that's accurate?

4. Lens focal length is supposed to be measured at infinity. Not on a lounge room wall.

5 Almost no lenses are exactly their claimed focal length. We've standardised over the years into a sub set of focal lengths. Hasselblad does post the actual focal length on their info charts next to the claimed focal length. I don't know of anyone else that does.

6. The difference between 43 and 41 is sweet F.A.
