George Collier Posted October 7, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted October 7, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an older M6, have for a while. Everything works fine except occasionally the release button (the one that is threaded for a cable release) doesn't rise to the top when the film is advanced. I tried to jiggle the advance lever (which doesn't seem to help), and change the shutter speed back and forth, which has helped so far. It may happen only when I advance the film rapidly to shoot again. Not sure, and it rarely happens. Also the meter won't engage until the button is all the way up. Any ideas? It's not a big enough deal to send to a repair person, but just looking for ideas.

Danner Posted October 7, 2024 Share #2  Posted October 7, 2024 Put it in a 350ºF oven for about 20 minutes, that will loosen things up for you.  <just kidding, it needs a CLA>
