AS I understand it, Leica is a product “taker” when it comes to sensors.  It doesn’t buy enough to determine much on the spec sheet.  60MP is where the best is at, so that’s what they take.

The M 240 had a bespoke sensor - designed for Leica by a small Belgian firm and produced by a French firm. The SL 601 also had a special design, using copper wiring on the sensor instead of the usual aluminium. Those are the only instances I can think of that they did not use modified off-the-shelf products. However, the modifications are often significant. Leica nearly always specifies the transmission curves of the Bayer filter, the configuration and shape of the microlenses and in the case of M cameras the IR filter.
