Very nice. I've been noticing for quite some time that your portraits tend to show people with their shoulders square toward the camera. I was going to suggest you try having them turn a bit to the side..... and then I saw this. 🙂

You are right Brent, The Steve McCurry method of a shoulder half-face facing the lens and head turned is probably the most dynamic, I should try it more often. Thanks for the suggestion.

Many of your subjects are wearing 'interesting' clothing - it is difficult to show that properly without going square on!

I tend to make a decision on the spur of the moment with the person. Many of the young student actors who I shoot for headshots are physically undeveloped in the shoulders (male and female), and putting them side on makes them look thin and weedy, with a head out of proportion.

I realise that most of your characters are not young and weedy though, David!
