I just bought a Haoge lens hood specially made for Q3 43. They solve the problem perfectly. The hood is slightly higher than the original Leica one. It can easily use for macro mode or uv filter. Also, is it aligned properly when completely screwed on? Lastly, can macro mode be used with a filter in place? I use a ND filter to keep things in mechanical shutter range and sometimes a CPL. Looks like I may be able to still rotate the CPL with this hood on. I ordered from the website, but last time I ordered something from them it took a while to get here. Edit: I just loooked. Ebay item is coming from China, so it probably doesn't make a difference in delivery time. Edited November 1, 2024 by Dr. G

Robert Ardinger Posted November 8, 2024 Share #32 Posted November 8, 2024 Ordered one on Nov. 1st from the Haoge web site. Now, nearly 8 days later it is at the post office (near Seattle) hopefully being delivered today (but likely tomorrow). No tax and quite detailed tracking information to let you know the grand tour of China the package gets to go on. Hoping that when it arrives it works as advertised.

I ordered mine 8 days ago, it’s currently at Heathrow airport… Website suggests it’s being delivered tomorrow… Fingers crossed it’s looks and works as described! ChrisQ3 Posted November 9, 2024 Author Share #35 Posted November 9, 2024 It’s arrived! 9 days to the UK, ordered directly from their website in China. Fits and looks perfect!
Robert Ardinger Posted November 9, 2024 Share #36 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) Mine arrived today (11/9) and as described, fit and lined up well and with no vignetting. No issue with a filter and macro mode. Looks very similar to the stock hood on the Q3 in length. The Match Technical rubber cap works with the Q3 43 Haoge hood on the Q3 43 (the cap did not work as well with the stock shorter Q3 43 hood, it would hit the aperture ring before fully seating). Also the stock lens cap will work (as expected) as will a 65mm push-on plastic cap but there is less of a lip on that cap compared with the stock one. paul chiu Posted November 10, 2024 Share #37 Posted November 10, 2024 Can someone post a link to this Hood that permits the Leica UV filter and Macro use? I went on the site and search for Q3 43 and Macro with no luck. Thanks.
Robert Ardinger Posted November 10, 2024 Share #38 Posted November 10, 2024 This should get you there. Oddly the Haoge web site has it filed under "Products", "Lens Hood", "For Leica M Mount Lenses". https://haogefoto.com/products/haoge-metal-square-lens-hood-for-leica-q3-43-q3-43-camera-accessories-black-lh-lq43b LH-LQ343B
Schoeniman Posted November 14, 2024 Share #39 Posted November 14, 2024 I‘ve bought the B&W Nano Filter and the Haoge hood. works perfectly and the hood quality is on par with Leica. pacnwleica Posted November 14, 2024 Share #40 Posted November 14, 2024 Got my one yesterday (ordered directly), fits good, has enough clearance for the Leica filter to use macro. shame that Leica didn't have this as the default hood.
