This is the Westgate Freeway and Bridge in Melbourne. It is from 66 floors up and almost a 100% crop near the top of a portrait orientated image. F/8, ISO100, 48 secs.

Based on 50 pages of posted photos I'm still not confident about rendering of this camera/lens. More Panasonic than Leica "look". I try very hard to find some "magic"... I really was prepared to trade in my M Summilux 50 Asph for this Q, but I will wait a little bit more before making conclusions. Rendering seems sharp and contrasty, but without "wow" factor (famous, non scientifically proven Leica look😅). Maybe is just (odd) focal length, who knows.

When I first saw photos taken with the Q2, I recognised something "different" from the results from my Canon R6. I invested in a Q3 and do not regret doing so. The pictures I see in this thread, while good photos, do not have the magic that I saw in the Q2. I think it is the 28mm lens that makes the difference; not, perhaps, because of its focal length, but I sense that it is sharper -- or perhaps it is due to some indefinable "wow" factor. I could be wrong, and just prejudiced. 😀

The 43 for sure aint a 50lux. So if you want that, don’t buy the Q.

To me, the 43 should match the 45mm zeiss planar from the G1… and it might do so. I am still playing around.

A Lux is a Lux…
