I have to say...I follow the "images taken with" threads through all the subforms. But, average-wise, the images shown on the Q3 43 thread tend to me much superior (IMO) than others.  Threr really are ery few average images in thius thread. And a good number of above average and outstanding quality.

Let’s be clear. This is not due to the camera.

it is simply due to the fact that good photographers know how and what gear to use…

I guess those opting for the new Q know what they want and how to achieve it.

Not to be rude about the Q3 43 images above, in my opinion, there are also excellent ones to be seen in the Q thread!

But in both cases, 1- good photographers and 2 - good post processing, you’re basically pulling from the same group of photographers as the other sub forums.  So, obviously, there’s something about the camera that works well for the users.  Of course, a camera is just a tool, but a tool does inspire good work and flow- one of the reasons I use the M system.  Not that it makes me a good photographer, but it does make the images I take more enjoyable and often better.

Yes.  And if one goes to the LFI website there are great, masterful images taken with the all the Q's ( and most other systems)

Please don't  misunderstand me. I am not saying the other images are bad, or that any single image here is better than any single image elsewhere and taken with any system.  All I am saying is that the percentage of images that I like against the amount of images posted  is higher here.  It's just an observation.  And also, just a personal view, not a global judgement ( I am no better at judging an image than anyone else here)

I envy you your skies at this time of year, James, not to mention your lack of cables all over the place! I cannot match this in Wien...

Last night's major operation on our doorstep. The little one woke up and because I always read so many negative things about autofocus (and yes, it's not the best, but you can learn to understand it).
Junior's image at f/2, 1/80s, ISO 12.500 and even then the AF can still be jagged for a quick reminder.

I'm curious what your photo of your son would look like in colour at ISO 12,500. Will the Q3 43 pull good colour from shadows? Can you get natural skin tones? This is into SL2-S territory (which I would shoot up to 25,000), but the Q3 43 looks very tempting as a lightweight alternative. Have you used AI denoise?

Has anyone else got examples at ISO 12,500 or above in colour?
