Last night's major operation on our doorstep. The little one woke up and because I always read so many negative things about autofocus (and yes, it's not the best, but you can learn to understand it).
Junior's image at f/2, 1/80s, ISO 12.500 and even then the AF can still be jagged for a quick reminder.

Looks like a pretty good result to me.   The trick is to buy a new camera once every 10 years so even bad new tech is better than good old tech.  Hopefully everyone is ok... maybe just getting a cat out of a tree.
