tm35 Posted September 22, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) What I usually do is use a manual setting. However, sometimes in a rush, I forgot to change it. I am using Lightroom to process photos and publish directly to flickr. So, it will be inconvenient to export into JPG and correct it using EXIFTool. (Is there a solution to make changing EXIF in LR easier?) I tried to turn off the lens profile, however, if I put the lens with the 6-bit coded again and when I switch back to non coded lens, it picks the manual lens again. Advertisement Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Hi tm35, Take a look here Lens info on non 6-bit coded lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted September 22, 2024 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2024 I have no idea about LR i don't use but suppose you select the "35 f/1.4 11869/11870/11860" lens profile in the lens detection menu. As long as you don't select another manual code, the camera will keep this lens profile in memory so if you mount an uncoded Tele-Elmar 135/4, for instance, the camera will believe that it is a 35/1.4 lens again, unless you select the "135 f/4 11851/11861" lens profile in the lens detection menu. Only way to avoid that is to pen-code uncoded lenses or have them coded by Leica or a repair shop. Also softwares like File Multi Tool for Mac allow to edit exif data easily. Unsure if i asked your question.
