My grandfather got a parrot similar to this one when he was in his early 30s. He died at the age of 69 and my father had to find another home for the parrot which was still in it's middle age. They are very social creatures and need a lot of interaction with people or other parrots. They also become bored, so toys and challenges are necessary. Without those or interactions they will pluck their own feathers and become all but bald.
