Charlie F. Posted September 21, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) My wife bought a D-Lux 8 and we're searching for a conventional battery charger [one that plugs into an electrical outlet - much like the one for my Q3 or SL2]. Bizarrely, Leica do not seem to make one specifically for this camera... at least as far as I can see on their accessories page. Why? And how/where can we get one, since if you have more than one battery your camera is unusable if your charging the 2nd battery? Thanks!
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Hi Charlie F., Take a look here Battery charger for the D-Lux 8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Merco_61 Posted September 21, 2024 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2024 The BC-DC15 should work. Any Leica dealer should be able to order one.
ceflynn Posted September 21, 2024 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2024 The Nitecore UL109 model has been discontinued but is still available from some dealers. It can charge two batteries at once, and has a display that provides some data about one of the batteries.

rjans Posted September 21, 2024 Share #7 Posted September 21, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I use the Panasonic DMW-BTC12 battery charger. It could also be named DMW-BTC13 as I've seen on the operating instructions. It consists of the battery charger, the AC adaptor and a USB connection cable (USB to micro USB). Price VAT included is approx. 45€. The battery of the D-Lux8 is the same as used in the D-Lux7 and also identical to the one used in the Panasonic Lumix DC-100 mk II. De discontinued Leica C-Lux uses the same type of battery. Edited September 21, 2024 by rjans Clarification
fotografr Posted September 21, 2024 Share #8 Posted September 21, 2024 I got this one along with two batteries and they all work great. Good reviews for both the batteries and charger. As you likely know, the batteries and charger are the same as for the D-Lux (typ 109). https://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-Battery-Charger-BP-DC15/dp/B00T511Q7G

That was about six products ago. You didn't read the rest of the thread. 😉 Here's my comment (Post #103) near the end of that thread. Ultimately, Leica made me whole with this problem. "As the OP, I'd like to make one final comment to wrap this up. I got quite bent out of shape when the dust spots were first discovered. My attitude now is that it shouldn't have happened, but shit happens. There is a remedy available and I'll use the camera as is until I feel the need to send it off for a cleaning. There are a lot of things I really do like about the Q3. The IQ is fantastic and the lens is amazing. The camera feels good in the hand, has well thought out controls and a logical menu. I'm quite certain the more I use it the more I'll like it." You are correct, however, that Leica products are habit forming! Leica does seem to have…something…that no matter what we forgive them their foibles. I find that I can forgive stuff when they print stuff like (LFI 75 edition) that there is 0% AI in their magazine. 😀

I'd feel a real sense of loss of they stopped publishing. I know you were just kidding me. No offense taken at all.
leicas_boyfriend Posted September 29, 2024 Share #13 Posted September 29, 2024 I've got this one for my D-Lux 7, in Germany available from Amazon: CELLONIC® BC-DC15 BC-DC15-E Dual Schnellladegerät kompatibel mit Leica D-LUX D-LUX (Typ 109) D-LUX 7 BP-DC15 BP-DC15-E BP-DC15-TK BP-DC15-U + USB Kabel Akkuladegerät Ladekabel Dual Ladegerät Price is around 15€. OK, I've only used it once but it did a great job. The guys from the German forum recommend this charger, also for the D-Lux 8.
GRBrown Posted November 10, 2024 Share #14 Posted November 10, 2024 The Panasonic Lumix DE-A99 battery charger plugs directly into an electrical outlet, no cables needed. It is a compact unit, measuring approximately 2 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches. It charges Leica BP-DC15, Lumix DMW-BLG10, and Sigma BP-51 batteries.
