dryee Posted September 19, 2024 Share #1  Posted September 19, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have used my R lenses on the SL2 but the capture rate because of the SD card buffering is limiting. Anyone has experience with the Sony A1 body or other bodies with R lenses? Appreciate sharing your experiences. Thanks. TomB_tx Posted September 19, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted September 19, 2024 I've use my R lenses with a Sony A7 & A7III with very nice results. (Too cheap to buy the SL series!)
dryee Posted September 19, 2024 Author Share #3  Posted September 19, 2024 How many frames per burst on average? Was there an adapter brand name wise you were extremely happy with? Thanks!
andybarton Posted September 19, 2024 Share #4  Posted September 19, 2024 When I had a Nikon D700, I Leitax'd my R lenses and they worked perfectly on the Nikon. https://www.leitax.com/Leica-lens-for-Sony-cameras.html
dryee Posted September 19, 2024 Author Share #5 Â Posted September 19, 2024 Thanks for sharing! Â Are you still shooting the Nikon? Â Are you getting approx how many frames per burst? Thanks!
andybarton Posted September 19, 2024 Share #6 Â Posted September 19, 2024 No, the Nikon went about 10 years ago when I got my M240. My daughter uses it now (or at least I think she does...) Do you mean "how many frames could I shoot before the buffer fills"? I can't remember, but I also don't remember ever thinking that it was a problem. Thanks! On either Sony I have no idea - I don't shoot bursts. I've tried several inexpensive adapters and all worked. The Rayqual is pretty good. Given any adapter or adapted R lens is only likely to be useable in Aperture Priority Mode for a 'fast burst rate' on other cameras it is dependant on your f/stop and ISO for your given camera what that burst rate will be. Given the fast shutter speed of modern digital cameras you can't increase the 'burst rate' on any camera without taking into consideration the f/stop and ISO you are using.
