gregfountain Posted September 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Here on the Washington coast, we see all sorts of sea life wash ashore. This evening there were lots and lots of Jellyfish. I'm fascinated with them. These were all shot with the SL2 and the APO-Cron-SL 35. Welcome, dear visitor! fotografr Posted September 17, 2024 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2024 (edited) There's definitely a beauty to them. The glow is amazing. Any idea what caused them to wash ashore? Edited September 17, 2024 by fotografr

Any idea what caused them to wash ashore? It's just the tide here Brent and lots of Jellies. Our tides this part of the year go from negative feet to 10 feet and it always brings something up that gets deposited on the beach. We've had whales, seals, jellies, including the sail jellies (thousands of them a couple of months ago), along with Japanese glass floats, ropes, huge tree trunks, etc. It's an interesting place 1
stuny Posted September 18, 2024 Share #5 Posted September 18, 2024 If the sail jellies were mostly blue with a bit of magenta at what looks like seams, they were Portugues-men-of-war. No jellies are particularly good swimmers, and the sail jellies not at all.

No jellies are particularly good swimmers, and the sail jellies not at all. Yeah, the sailors were a bluish color, very small and there were 10's of thousands on the beaches of Oregon and Washington. It was all over the news here as well. They float on the surface and their "sails" take them wherever the wind blows.
