Looks nice, but the same issue with the Filson — it doesn't hold a laptop. I use my bag for a combo of daily carry and work, so that's kind of essential.

Hadley One. It does.

Thanks for the rec. They are very nice bags and very expensive. I'm looking for something a little more functional and a little less bespoke.

the half sleeve doesn't really work well for me, with the SL3 inside, it makes the bag quite lopsided, i am having the full sleeve on my to-buy list, any thoughts?

on the Hadley one, you can insert 2 half sleeves or the full.  I like the half better

I have both. Two half inserts and one complete insert as well as various dividers. So I'm flexible depending on what equipment I'm taking with me.

P.S.:

Bags, bags, bags - an obsession 🤪

My absolute favorite bag is the Hadley Digital with a higher Hadley Divider (perfect for X-U, Q2 etc.).
– Unfortunately too small for the SL. Not on the older photo (10/2021) the FSTOP F2.8 in the color black, my youngest bag.

Could yall share the circumstances in which you would utilize 2 half sleeves and when would you use the full insert?

With pleasure. I use the large insert with dividers when I use the Hadley One with two or three cameras with a fixed lens or for the SL with a large lens. Apart from the FSTOP f2.8 bag, it is the only bag that can hold the SL well and not too tightly next to the SL Bag.

Half an insert or two if I use other combinations. A Stanley coffee mug for example fits well between two half inserts, which are very flexible on the sides, as is the whole bag. The front pockets also fit a lot of things you wouldn't expect.

The Hadley One also works well as a business or conference bag for everyday use. And sometimes there is a little space for Lee Filters accessories or for a simple windbreaker or for a small thin sweater, coffee mug, water bottles. And a “Leberkäse-Semmel” (meat loaf roll) or "Drei im Weggla" (Nuremberg bratwurst roll) of course 😂. It is very versatile because you can also place a half insert in the middle.

Good bags are expensive, but than last a lifetime, I have several billinghams, and really appreciate them. They can stand tough weather which is an important thing to me.

Oh, I completely understand. I'm just at a point where I am more of a pragmatic minimalist than a collector, and I do quite a bit of street photography where having something that looks like a classic messenger bag makes more sense than a bespoke satchel.
