My neighbor is in the right location for using her scull. There's a river just to the west and a lake just to the south.

I agree. My neighbor fits that category. She's been rowing for a long time.

Not much of that here in Yakima, but growing up in Seattle I use to love to watch the UW crew race, and some clubs that would work out and race on Green Lake.  One of my best HS friends joined the UW crew and got to race in Henley one year.  Then and now the UW continues to be one of the powerhouse crew teams.

Friday evening we were having dinner and I glanced out just in time to see the UW Crew Team rowing past in beautiful early evening light. I grabbed my Q3 but by the time the camera was ready to shoot they were obstructed by trees so I could only get half of the scull. 

Of course, I am talking about our UW, not yours. 😉
