Digilux 2 navigation issue

Hi everyone! I just get at very low price an old Digilux 2 with a working censor (changed in 2010) but the 4 directions button at back is not working (that's why I get a very low price).

I disassembled the Digilux 2 and did not notice any damage inside? All connectors are normal.

The wheel is working fine though but I can't change any value.

Is it fixable and how? Anyone get this issue there?

I cannot recall any reports of similar problems.  Have you tried a factory reset? (See the handbook)

Or you could try using a small brush, such as a well-washed old toothbrush, to dislodge any trapped debris in the region of the keys.

Was the fault mentioned by the vendor?

I can't reset it because I can't valid any operation. Yes the vendor asked a small price because of this issue.

Construction of this Leica is still very good so I can't access under the button to move any little dust under.

I think I will disassemble it one more time and see if I can see more than before. Any chance to get this part somewhere?

Only from someone selling a D2 for parts. You could try Leica.

Or perhaps Panasonic.

I asked Leica for parts and they don't have any. Stuny, the Panasonic LC1 has a different part for this but maybe it fits in. LC1 out of order for parts should be much cheaper than the D2 for sure 😊

Panasonic stopped support for the camera earlier than Leica did.

Maybe the answer is buying a dead D2 or Panasonic as a parts camera
