gallery0110 Posted August 25, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, just recently purchased a SL3, great camera. But I have noticed that while in Aperture priority mode, despite the changing of ISO or aperture, the shutter speed is always at 1/60. Is there some settings need to be adjusted or if it’s something wrong with the camera? Thank you so much.

SrMi Posted August 25, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2024 Do the images come out properly exposed? If so, then you are not in A mode.

I’m pretty sure I was in A mode. Yes, the images did come out fine, but as I have mentioned, the shutter speed is always at 1/60 regardless the changing of ISO and aperture, or if I was at a bright location or dark location. Can you check now if it is still stuck in 1/60 using manual ISO (not Auto-ISO)?
JoshuaR Posted August 25, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2024 I have the same problem on my newly-acquired SL2-S. In aperture priority I'm always at 1/60. I can't seem to find a way to set a higher minimum shutter speed, like on my M cameras. It seems as though, if I'm in aperture priority with Auto ISO, my shutter stays at 160 and my ISO moves. LocalHero1953 Posted August 25, 2024 Share #6 Posted August 25, 2024 (edited) What if you go out into bright sunlight where AutoISO should default to 100. Open up the aperture and see what shutter speed you get. And what lens is fitted? The default AutoISO shutter speed is, I think, 1/f. If you want to set your own minimum shutter speed then on the SL2-S it’s at the top of p2 of the menus, under ‘AutoISO settings’. I don’t have a SL3 to check. Unfortunately the Auto ISO settings are limited: you can’t specify 1/f, 1/2f or 2/f - just Auto and a specific speed. Nor can you tell it to decrease ISO rather than decrease shutter speed. Virob Posted August 25, 2024 Share #7 Posted August 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it possible that you have shutter speed limit set to 1/60 in the auto iso settings? A long shot.

Hi there, in M model everything is fine, all is adjustable. Do you think this has something to do with my ISO setting? Because in A mode, if I have the ISO set to manual, the shutter speed is changing again according to the ISO

Hi there, thanks all for your help. The problem has been solved, or should I say, I finally understand how to set the camera😅.
