I wonder how well Kipon works compared to the Leica adapter (infinity focus, central shutter?). It certainly should be less expensive ;-). Yeah I think the new idea being finally getting images with S lenses projected onto a sensor that’s closer to the original intended sensor size. Medium format to medium format with full function and industry standard highest EVF. Edited February 3 by Leica Land
lightsourcekauai Posted April 12 Share #43 Posted April 12 Interesting thread. Since my SL3 is in for repair at an estimate of 2.5 months— after just 11 months of use— I’m ready to sell my SL2 , SL3 (once repair is completed), 90-280, 21 APO, and 35 APO. I’m seriously considering GFX II because of image quality and reasonable service times.
Paul2660 Posted April 12 Share #44 Posted April 12 Curious. What was the cause of the repair? I hate to see repair times of 2.5 months. Recently however Fuji US Took almost 45 days to repair a lock screw on a 110mm TS lens of mine. Paul

The SL3 is powering off on its own and when I press the power on button it reboots to the Leica simulation screen and resets itself to factory defaults, erasing all User Profiles and customization of buttons and dials. Camera will stay on for about 3 minutes before it powers down again. When I power it back on it asks for Language and date and time. I hate to hear about the lengthy repair for such a small item. For the Fuji repair, did you join the “Pro Services” program for expedited repairs? That’s a service that I would pay for as I do with Canon CPS. From my experience with Canon it really makes a difference. The option of this kind of service program has me leaning more towards Fuji than Hasselblad. That and the 250mm lens. LocalHero1953 Posted April 12 Share #46 Posted April 12 2.5 months for a repair? That's a massive step forward for Leica. Only a year back it was 6-9 months! (Yes, I know 2.5 months is still not good!)

Two of the three new items I purchased from Leica broke within a year or were defective from the start. My first 21 APO needed replacement out of the box (it didn’t focus at infinity), and now the SL3. Then of course there are other issues that I have been unhappy with, but there is no reason to go into them here. What I can say is that early next week my Leica kit is going to MPB, Q2 Reporter included. And when the repair on the SL3 is completed I’m not even going to take it out of the box. I’ll get a quote online and then It’s getting shipped straight to MPB, too. Today I ordered Fuji GFX II with GX 250 and GX 55 lenses. I picked up a “like new” 23 last night. The only thing that I will miss (for now) is the 21 APO for night sky photography. Hopefully Fuji will release a fast wide to compete with the Hassy 25 and whatever the S4 becomes, whenever that may be.
Chris W Posted April 13 Share #50 Posted April 13 I always buy Leica used, 'EXC' or nearly new if possible. As a result I've never had a buggy camera or something needing repair.
lightsourcekauai Posted April 13 Share #51 Posted April 13 My used Mint condition 35 APO and Excellent condition SL2 both purchased from Leica store Miami were great. Q2 in Like new from MPB also solid.
