wolan Posted August 14, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, apart from half-pressing the shutter release button there is no way to lock the exposure on M11 /M11monochrom cameras correct? Thanks in advance for any suggestions Edited August 14, 2024 by wolan
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Hi wolan, Take a look here Auto Exposure lock. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Kiwimac Posted August 14, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2024 Certainly none I’ve noticed so far.
Knightspirit Posted August 14, 2024 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2024 There is one - it’s called “manual” 🤪. I got used to using point and shoots by just pointing the camera at something to change the exposure and then reframing. I do the same thing with the M11 in auto only it works even better as focus is already set. Quicker and easier than trying to use exposure compensation…. 1
lct Posted August 14, 2024 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2024 Only way i know for AE lock is half press the shutter release. Simpler than pushing a button on my mirrorless cameras but it is a matter of taste of course.
chris7273 Posted August 14, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2024 Easy, simple and intuitive : focus, aim for exposure, half press, compose, shoot
Chris_Jenks Posted August 20, 2024 Share #6 Posted August 20, 2024 Half pressing the shutter is the only way I know of to lock exposure. However, what I generally find works very well is to use spot metering, compose the shot I want in LV and then move the exposure metering spot around the frame until I have the exposure I’m looking for. rhrwes Posted August 20, 2024 Share #7 Posted August 20, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! That's correct, on the Leica M11 and M11 Monochrom, there isn't a dedicated exposure lock button. Half-pressing the shutter release button is the way to lock the exposure. However, you can use the "AE Lock" function in the camera's menu to lock the exposure with a single press of the shutter button, instead of half-pressing it. This might be a more convenient option for you.
