pop Posted August 10, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2024 Are you quite sure that they're full size image files and that they are written by your camera and not - say - your Apple computer?
BillCB Posted August 11, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted August 11, 2024 No - I'm not sure! Maybe you're right - I'll check next time it happens. Thanks for responding, Bill
jaapv Posted August 11, 2024 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2024 I seem to recall that the private folder contains video files
M11 for me Posted August 11, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 11, 2024 I would then format your SD card (use "SD Card Formatter version 5.0.2") and start all over again. Take a video first and then look what there is on your SDcard. Then format it again an then take some images. Pls report then what you see.
BillCB Posted August 12, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted August 12, 2024 Well, I can't replicate what happened. I have formatted both cards and then shot both videos and photos. Videos only get recorded to the CF card, but appear under DCIM, just like stills. (I have DNG recorded to CF and to SD). If it happens again I'll examine the "Private" files more closely - as POP suggested, it may be something the Mac did.
