The numbers would date the camera as a Leica II from 1939, and the lens from 1938, so these look about right. - What is it about the camera that make you think it may not be authentic? - I'm not sure the shutter release collar looks original, but I may well be wrong.

Ok, there is that strange collar to the shutter release... but the original is screwed-on... lot of explanations for this oddity...

- Finishing of advance knob & times knob : good to have it well detailed on pic...looks original

- "20-1" on the times knob (surely 13,5 mm diam.) : ok for a '39 model (batch of 300 : 318501 to -800)

- Screws that fit top to body (3+3) : position OK.

- "o" on the flange... a little strange.. it should have disppeared in later batches... but not a definite conclusion to be drawn... was a component built in thousands previously... war approaching... better to use also spares in inventory... or it could even had been changed easily for wear or so...

- "D.R.P." engraving under "Leica", not under "Wetzlar"... correct for a '39 model.

....

Shutter sounds fine ? :) OK, not a russian fake...
