I recently bough a mint used M11P that I absolutely love, even though in my heart of hearts I really wanted black for the lighter weight and more discrete appearance. But I bought the M11P because of its 12/234 build date (which knock on wood hasn't ever had a freeze problem, even before I updated to 2.1.2) and because the seller has a great rating on Fred Miranda (with whom I've since gotten friendly, really nice guy). There's a side of me that would still like to look for a mint used black M11P, obviously paying at least $1000 more than I paid for the silver M11P, and then selling the silver M11P which I'm sure I'd have no problem doing. But then, I do like the aesthetic of the silver camera over the black camera, albeit that the silver camera is heavier and less discrete than black. Okay, please feel free to slap some sense into my fool head 😵💫 The last thing you do with a working M11 is trade it for another one that is used for some superficial reason. You will regret it. This forum is filled with stories of regret. Don't join them. I just got done talking about this with a guy who bought a brand new perfectly working Corolla GR and he traded it for a used one he found at an Audi dealer that had been modified but he liked the color and the modifications. Now the thing has all sorts of mechanical issues. You're about to join him. But as far as the original question, as far as I'm concerned. Leica M's should always be black. I would never get a silver one.
Advertisement Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi _leicaguru, Take a look here silver or black. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted February 3 Share #42 Posted February 3 Chome is the original, classic. I had both in the past, the black M11 is a bit lighter and I went with that. The home is a color that is more versatile, so you can change the color of the leather, A la card! I don't think the home M11 had much success for the weight, you see them now converted to Black Paint and 100 Year edition.
algrove Posted February 3 Share #43 Posted February 3 I always get black due to its more stealth look when in busy environments.
Alberti Posted February 11 Share #44 Posted February 11 When I walk around with a silver and a black body, I get bemused looks, and sometimes I can say, well one is black and white. 😃 When I walk around with two black bodies I just get some bored look. 🤑
maxpower Posted February 11 Share #45 Posted February 11 I know there is no M11 option yet but I would go green (Safari or Reporter), it allows for better camouflage so nobody will see you!
dickgillberg Posted February 11 Share #46 Posted February 11 Now! I purchased the M11 glossy black. I want black but couldn't buy an aluminum M11, just look at it when it wears. That's just my feeling about it.

DadDadDaddyo Posted February 11 Share #48 Posted February 11 Silver with Beluga Leather strap with my Desert Sand Safari Jacket. Black with Unborn Fur Seal Pelt strap with my Camouflage Safari Jacket. Anything else would be simply...... vulgar.
