BernardC Posted August 3, 2024 Share #6 Â Posted August 3, 2024 I received the email too. 4.1 came out in March, so I'm not sure why they sent another reminder. Nevertheless, it's a good thing that the camera is still supported.
WineDesign Posted August 4, 2024 Share #7  Posted August 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice to see. My experience with Sony is that previous models don’t exist as far as they’re concerned.

My experience with Sony is that previous models don’t exist as far as they’re concerned. Sony may have "turned over a new leaf" or just succumbed to social media pressure from 2023, with the 2024 firmware updates for both the relatively older Sony A1 and A7sIII. From a long-time-user's perspective, these updates might have been one of the largest firmware updates from Sony for existing cameras in a very long time--to include adding "C2PA = Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity" via firmware update. Regardless, Bravo Leica for keeping the original SL firmware fresh even if v 4.1 came out in March 2024. Hope they continue to do the same for the SL2 cameras over the coming years. Edited August 5, 2024 by LBJ2
