Giulio Zanni Posted July 29, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted July 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello friends, I recently acquired a SL2 to use with my M lenses. I have a tri-elmar mounted on the M-L adapter. When trying to use the perspective control, all I get is a red frame around the viewfinder. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks, Giulio

If not, try setting the focal length manually (also needed for stabilization). The adapter is the Leica adapter L-M, the tri-elmar is the MATE 28-35-50. I’ll try to play with the settings, but I hope I don’t need to change the setting every time I change the focal length of the tri-elmar as it would defeat it’s flexibility of use

If not, it may not send the focal length to the camera, so you have to set it manually. Importantly, IBIS will not work unless the camera knows the focal length. Photoworks Posted July 29, 2024 Share #7 Â Posted July 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) The MATE I used didn't have 6-bit coding, so the camera would not know what you are using. some functions are turned off when enhanced LIVE VIEW is turned on. I'm not sure if that would be the case here.

Bikie John Posted July 30, 2024 Share #9 Â Posted July 30, 2024 I'm not sure, but I think that even with a 6-bit coded MATE and the Leica adapter, it does not transmit the focal length to the camera. I think this is because the only way it knows which focal length is set is from the position of the viewfinder frame selector. So it works on M bodies, but there is no linkage to it in the adapter so it doesn't know which you have set. This is a pain, it reduces the flexibility of the Tri-Elmar as you say. But I don't see any practical way round it. John
albireo_double Posted August 2, 2024 Share #10  Posted August 2, 2024 If I remember correctly, the perspective control function is not compatible with the continuous shooting mode. Also worth checking the display refresh rate - not sure if perspective control works with the 120 fps. I may be mistaken (and not ready to spend time looking through the manual) but the above two settings would be my first to check.
