It is to long time ago, that I organized a meeting in Tilburg. Who wants to?

Why Tilburg?

The members who were here before know. It was just fun! The people are great and the architecture changes every year!

In the link just one street, captured for four years:

Would be nice, but unfortunately I'll be 7.900 km south of Tilburg in October.

Maybe september would be better, because of the weather. Most of the time it’s still warm in september.
14 or 21 september would suit me.

Dear Paulus,

if the date permits please count me and Karin in.
21st September would be perfect for us.
We have never been in Tilburg.

Greetings

John

I was even thinking now about 7th of september. I forgot a fencing tournament on the 14th.

is the 7th of september an option? ( maybe the title “ october” has to be changed in “ september Jaap? .

Tilburg is a very big “village”, ( 300.000) inhabitants but everybody seems to know eachother, hence a l”village”.

It city centre has evolved a little since corona , making the city more green and renovated with some very nice buildings.

Good initiative Paulus, but both september 14 and 21 are not possible for me due to other commitments and travel.

Oktober doesn't look much better, with the 26th as my only option 🙄, so this time it's probably not for me.

So have fun, I really enjoyed your previous Tilburg meet in 2021, it's an interesting city with lots to see and photograph.

last time I planned three months ahead, but maybe this works as well.

Finding a hotel in the Centre is already difficult due to this?
But it will be nice to have some action 🙂

I tentatively recorded sept 7th .

By the way, is another venue also an option, like Maastricht or Arnhem? The latter was mentioned by @Maarten some time ago if I understood it well.

Sorry, I get confused, or my English is to bad. Are you saying, that I have to cancel the Tilburg meeting on 7th of september because some want to go to other cities?

You , as an architect , will probably hate, or like what they do with the place. They build about four to ten thousand appartements in the city centre in the time we had the last meeting here. Combining the old with the new. I’ll make a few pictures today , for teasers.

Tilburg is still “ the Berlin of the south”  part of the Netherlands: ( Belgian - and home brew - Beer and architecture and music parties)
and I must say it harbours the most handsome / pretty /nice people in the country.

And for other interests. It is one of the ritchest cities in the Netherlands, because of the industrial wealth and , alas, drug trade. So if you like cars, buildings , nice people and just a relaxed surrounding one would do quite well here.

Today I was planning and visiting the sites to see, as you can see below in the first link.
It seems as if everyone is eating and drinking on this wonderful day, so I hope this will happen in September 2024  also.
The town is becoming more and more lively.
During and after Corona a few high buildings were realized.

In the link you’ll get an idea of what we are bound to see:
