AlohaCowboy808 Posted July 25, 2024 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. I’m the new owner of a M11-P and am confused on setting the user settings. I have created one which suits my needs, but I find that the camera does not immediately go to that setting when turned on (goes to default), and it randomly returns to the default setting while I’m using the camera. This is a bit frustrating. Anybody else experience similar?

lexffm Posted July 25, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2024 Hello, pls find. the answer here: I Translate a part already: When I read the instruction manual again, I remembered the problem I had. In the User Profiles item, only 6 profiles are displayed on the screen. But to get to the menu item "Manage profiles" you have to go down one line further. Then you can save and rename. Stupidly done... Regards Alex
jgeenen Posted July 25, 2024 Share #3 Posted July 25, 2024 If settings are stored correctly, they will not get lost during power cycle (or battery replacement). Settings that had been active last time are the same next time - with one exception: The Leica M11 does not remember the name of the profile that was set last. So - although all settings are as per profile (if you did not change some by intention or accident), after a power recycle it looks like "no profile applied". That is a little bit confusing in the beginning (and I doubt there is any serious rationale behind it, but in real photography it is not a big deal: After playing around with profiles initially, I meanwhile only use one default profile and rarely use with exception of white balance any menu item.

Never heard of such an issue since May 2022 but i may have missed something.

My M11-P does remember and show the selected profile icon, but the slightest change, f.i. exposure compensation, and the default profile icon will be displayed. However all settings made to your profile are still there, except for that one setting you changed. Which makes sense somehow but admittedly is rather confusing.
