Just for a bit of fun and possibly sharing ideas. How have you customised your SL3? What would you like to see added or changed to make it better?

For me. Mostly I use A. Sometimes M and S but mostly aperture is what I need. I also have separate profiles set for general manual ISO, general auto ISO, b&w, moving stuff.

Dials: Front - aperture/shutter : rear - EV comp : left - ISO but I don’t like how it’s implemented and the way you switch between auto and manual ISO.

Buttons

top left: IS (I’m on and off a tripod a bit).

top right: profile select. I bounce between profiles a bit.

front top - focus mode

front bottom Af mode

EVF - re-centre focus point

rear buttons - standard

joystick - standard

What I’d like:

1. Make the rear dial click function customisable like the SL2. I’d have ISO here. I have little need for fast access to mode (PASM) this is easy to access from the home page in the menu.

2.Add extra functions to the top left wheel. I’d have profile selection here.

3. I’d add perspective control to my now spare button.

I don't have my SL3 yet but I have mapped out the buttons in relation to how I have my SL2-S set up so I'll join in 🤠

I almost exclusively use Manual exposure. Occassionally I will use Auto-ISO in M mode. I do not use P, A or S.

Dials: Front (I'm not sure which dial you refer to as Front dial, do you mean the big top right (shutter in M mode)?).: Rear - aperture : Left - ISO (I don't have experience of this yet, would also like other options for it).

Buttons

top left: Info levels (switch between histogram, horizon level, clear screen - so I can use my right hand while shooting. Doing this with Fn button breaks my flow. Might change this with new placement of Fn button)

top right: ISO (I may change this depending how I get on with the ISO dial)

front top - Magnify

front bottom: APS-C mode

EVF: On SL2-S I use this for EVF extended/auto setting as default, but will not be needed due to flip screen activating the LCD, so I will likely repurpose this (I'm assuming you mean the button right next to the EVF)

rear buttons - As default with possible exception of Fn, see above

joystick - standard, push for BBF in M mode.

What I’d like:

With the above configuration I've got almost everything I need at my fingertips and possibly two-three buttons spare (Fn, EVF and top right). However the disappearance of the Favourites menu means I will likely use those for something else.  It seems that there are only limited options for the Control Centre, so what I still need to figure out are the following items (and I would like Leica to extend what can be added to the control centre):

  • Shutter type (electronic/hybrid) - I don't think this can be assigned to control centre?
  • Image stabilisation (not often used and I have a tripod user profile, so I can probably skip this)
  • Self timer - this is on page 1 of the menu, probably fine like that
  • Drive mode, focus point (field, face etc), format, user profile, exposure mode: I'm assuming I can put all of these in control centre and this is fine with me

I set mine up with a 75 Noct, and an awesome custom Goliath Hendrix strap from the guys over at RocknRoll.   https://rocknrollstraps.com/shop/camera-straps/hendrix-straps/goliath-hendrix-sl2-black/ The guys over there are just great, and happy to make what you want. I had the strap made extra long so I can wear it cross body and have the camera hang at my hip. 😎

Top Buttons

  • right White Balance
  • left Drive Mode

Front

Top AF Mode

Bottom Focus Mode

What I would Like is Focus Stacking and MultiShot
