I’m coming over from Canon world, so bear with me.  Canon has its own little tool for Mac and PC that helps with file downloads from the camera and moves things into folders and you can customize naming conventions.

I was looking to come up with a similar workflow for my new M10-R. Somehow I thought Leica had an application for that. Turns out, that’s not the case (aside from the mobile Fotos app I’ve been using on my iPhone). I know there is a third party tool that I haven’t tried yet. I think Lightroom can do something like this also (I use Classic).

What is everyone using? The wireless download is nice, but I’m ok also with taking the SD card out. Mostly looking to customize file names, add dates, put things in date stamped folders, and automated the location for those folders being created. I hope I don’t have to do all that manually.

1. Insert SD card in MacBook Pro

2. Click “import” in LRc

3. Check that settings and target folder are correct

4. Click import

5. Remove card once ejected

6. Process photos.

Same except Mac Studio M2 Ultra card slot. Number 2 not needed… just open LRc first and previews appear. Back-up copies automatically generated at import.  Card automatically ejected after import. Keywords added if useful.
