They are listed as discontinued on B&H acccording to this thread but i will try in UK thank you for you links 🙂

Just to post a head's-up to everyone here with the latest update I have been given by Ivor at Red Dot. The following is a cut'n'paste from a reply written in the link in an earlier post made by lct (#19);

"...I've just had a chat with Ivor at Red Dot. When we were talking he logged-in to the appropriate site and he told me that the battery for the M240 is no longer listed as being available to order from Leica.

I was just about to type that it could simply be that Leica, themselves, are awaiting delivery of a new batch from the manufacturer but before I hit the 'Post' button Ivor called me back to say that he had just spoken to someone at the Leica sales desk who confirmed that the battery has, indeed, been discontinued!...

A strange state of affairs if we consider that these batteries were used by the M-E 240 which was still in production as recently as four years ago but I've had a very perfunctory google and, in the EU and the UK, there seems to be no legal requirement whatsoever which would require a manufacturer to continue to supply 'spares' for items which have been discontinued.

I wonder if anyone from Leica themselves would like to explain the exact state of affairs?..."...

Somewhat disconcerting news if, as seems likely, this situation proves to be true!

Philip.

Ken Rockwell is a clickbait writer. He says nuts things, like pros never use a tripod. Best to always use P setting, etc. He loves going against perceived opinion, for example as soon as canon released a mirror less camera he said it was the best ever and much bette then Sony, despite Sony being better built, larger range, better sensor, best af, best lens range and most popular. The 240 series was a milestone for Leica. It’s one of the most reliable Leica Ms ever built. It’s beautifully constructed. It takes gorgeous pictures. Its battery life has never been exceeded by any digital Leica. It even has video which, for me as a still shooter, is great have for the occasional family need, but hidden away when you don’t need it. The build and handling are superb, the M-P versions are a double thing of beauty. It remains the best value way into Digital M shooting today, and is so good that some people never upgrade. QED
