What's the point of the survey if Leica are not interested in whether and why users are satisfied with the interface other brands?

Offering a similar UI among different Leica models i guess.

I never got past the first page, despite just having written to Leica about my new Leica LUX app subscription, (iPhone) and it applicability to iPad.  I even mentioned my first SL2 from 48 years ago...not to mention a bunch of Ms along the way.  Oh well, I guess obsolesence comes even to Wetzlar.

I listed the M10 Monochrom as my most used camera. "What would you like improved?" is an interesting question ... What I'd really like is the option to buy an M10 M-D Monochrom in addition to the existing M10-M: virtually no in camera settings, no LCD, and raw capture only.

I miss my M-D 262; should never have sold it.

The survey is about the user interface, so I suspect comments about the CL or lack of updates to older cameras will not get much attention! I assume this will feed into the SL4, Q4, M12 (too late for the SL3S?) and/or S replacement.

Did those who listed a M10 or M11 as their most used camera get separate questions about those particular bodies (as I did for the SL2-S)?

Since I included video in my usage, I saw quite a lot of pages that others here probably did not, as well as the photography pages.

My most recent and most used Leica is the M10-D (or it would be if it didn’t seem to live in Wetzlar), so my survey was very short.  I don’t think they’re interested in anything I might say.

I wish I had chosen stills and photo instead of primarily photo, as I do do video work, but the large majority is photo. I never got any of the video questions. I think if they had made it more of a binary, it would have been easier to choose properly. I would have liked to give feedback on the video side as well.

There's an option to select "other", which I did: M10.

My summary:

Please keep Leica design simple and easy-to-to use:
Analog shutter and aperture controls
Clean and clear body surfaces
Minimal and clear menu structure
Concentration on high quality results and top optics

How could it be better?  Slightly lighter. M design is near perfect for me.

I still think there's a market for another compact apart from the D-Lux like a replacement for the CL and X series. But I guess that would be another survey.

Strange my survey felt too long as i had to repeat it i don't know why. What would you like improved was not an easy question, i said less shutter lag in successive single shots and IBIS with  the same compactness as M11 but i don't hold my breath.

But I found it interesting (and disappointing) that my Leica Q and Leica CL cameras weren't listed at all, so I had to tick "other". Leica should be just as interested in what owners of older models have to say, but apparently they are not.

its probably research for the SL4/S4

no further firmware updates or improvements

That's the same with any older model.

They have enough trouble getting the firmware right for current cameras, without being distracted by those that have been out of production for years.

Interesting survey as it is only interested in the current M, Q & SL models, my M10 is assigned to other 😢 and considering they are happy to sell used M10 at 10k for a painted M10R that does not bode well for future firmware updates on cameras that are in effect not much more than a year out of date.

I listed owning M10 Monochrom, M10-R and SL2.  The remaining questions were dedicated only to the SL2, even though I use the M cameras much more frequently. I stopped the survey.

Understandable, but it would be nice for the firmware for older cameras to at least be kept up to date with new lens releases.

I said my main camera was a MP; that made for a very short survey 🙂

The MP and M6 have only one UI selection option; appropriately marked as 'B/OFF'

The M11 survey was similar - Leica only interested in feedback from the owners of current releases.  It seems with the release of each new camera, Leica has moved on, expecting you to do the same.  They’re not at all interested in what you think if you’ve decided not to buy their latest iteration.  It’s a very odd approach, which suggests that maintaining existing customers isn’t a priority.

I listed my 5 leicas but the only one I got questions about was my new SL2-S, so I filled every box with a winge about bringing back MF zoom-in on the joystick to match my SL.

Don't suppose it'll make any difference but I felt a bit better

On digital cameras, I want two button functions without changing hand grip position single shot AF and toggle magnified view.

The SL2-S and CL are cameras that failed that test and I sold.
