MikeMyers Posted July 15, 2024 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been asking for years how to tell if my Visoflex has connected to a satellite. Today, I gave up, and I called Leica Store, Miami, where Adam found out the answer. Turn on M10 with Visoflex 020 Select the Visoflex in the Menu, and change OFF to ON I waited a minute or two before doing the following.... On back of camera look for the 4-way selector switch, and press the center button You should see a screen like in my photo. The GPS icon (looks like a small satellite) will have a small "x" in a circle to the bottom right of the satellite icon. This means the GPS is "on", but is searching for a signal. As I'm writing this indoors, at my computer, I don't think it will connect, so I can't get a proper photo showing it isconnected. Eventually I should get it to appear long enough for me to get a photo of it with my iPhone, and add it to this discussion. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Hi MikeMyers, Take a look here How to tell when the Visoflex 020 has located and connected to a Satellite, Leica M10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Siriusone59 Posted July 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2024 Thanks for posting this Mike. It inspired me to finally check to see if the GPS function worked on my visoflex and m10r. As you mentioned the satellite icon came on with the small "x" until I took it outside then after about 30 seconds, the "x" disappeared. The satellite icon remained at the top of the live view screen so I assume that indicated it was receiving the data. After taking a shot I tried to see if the location would appear somewhere using the play mode...I couldn't find it. Next time I import my images to Lightroom, I'll check there for location data. I didn't consider using the GPS when I purchased the 020, but it's good to know that it works.
MikeMyers Posted July 15, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted July 15, 2024 Is there a way to get more information on an image taken with an M10, perhaps including the EXIF data? On my Nikon, it's easy.
frame-it Posted July 15, 2024 Share #4 Posted July 15, 2024 there is a lot of data available, also depends on whether leica allows all of it to be written to its DNG files. Welcome, dear visitor! MikeMyers Posted July 15, 2024 Author Share #5 Posted July 15, 2024 Can I view this on my camera, or only after the image is downloaded.
Siriusone59 Posted July 15, 2024 Share #6 Posted July 15, 2024 I couldn't find a way to view on camera but I did import to Lightroom and it shows in metadata(lower right) and also on the map screen.
