Popular Post Paco Rosso Posted July 13, 2024 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 13, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think we can add light to our scene by three reasons: to rise the level of light, to reduce the contrast, and to chage the modelling of the forms. The first is the final image. The second the backstage situation. The third the original scene, without modelling in the dancer. First I photograph a gray card with the f and t I want for the background so the card fill completely the frame and set the flash (profoto B10p) in auto mode (TTL), so the system set the power to the correct level to reproduce the gray card, this was a 6.6 of 10. Then I pass to manual mode with a leica SL2 and the trigger profoto connect pro for leica (wich is one of the worst things profoto have made). Welcome, dear visitor! Sparkassenkunde Posted July 14, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 14, 2024 Striking work! Thank you for the insights into your workflow, I always appreciate it, when I get some background information on how others achieve their results. I do not have any experience with flash photography and am just starting to work with additional light sources, so I am in no way capable of judging the use of flash vs. continuous light but came to the conclusion to start with the latter after some small experiences from a few workshops I attended. In light conditions like the one you showed here I would guess a flash might be the better choice.
fotografr Posted July 14, 2024 Share #3 Posted July 14, 2024 Very nice result. I'm now retired and I do not miss the days of hauling my Balcar strobes around for shoots. For anyone just starting out, your explanations will be very helpful.
