So after much soul searching I’ll have my new-to-me M10-R and a 50mm 1.4 incoming soon. I’m switching over from my Canon system and have really been a bit absent from photography for a little while. im excited to get back into the groove and to have a more compact system that will hopefully be with me more often and more conveniently.

The last few years were a bit weird for a number of reasons and one major change for me was to completely move away from all big social media sites. I also deleted my  Zenfolio account that I used for some event photography and portrait side gigs for a while. Not looking to get back into any of that. This is strictly personal and “for art” if you will.

Not interested in anything owned by Google, Facebook, etc. So no Instagram etc. I’m honestly not even looking to put my name out with anything.

So what are some good and easy to use sites to share photos in a pleasant way with friends, family etc - with the ability to store things and order high quality prints/physical products ideally? Even better if this works internationally (US and Europe)

I wish a company like Leica offered this with their understanding of their customer base

I do have my own website and domain but that’s vacant right now except for emails  I also am a ln Adobe subscriber. Not sure what their cloud storage model is now going to be.

My church uses SmugMug for photo galleries.  I only post to it, so don't know that much about it.  I know it offers print service.  Personal work goes to my website which allows download so prints can be made if desired.

Leica used to operate such a site as you described. I can't remember the name of it, but you could upload your own images for storage and allow prints to be made from it (linked it Whitewall IIRC). I have a vague recollection that it lacked some functionality. It was a bit clunky to manage. They closed it a few years later, probably for lack f use - I suspect many people felt, justifiably as it turned out, that it couldn't be trusted for long term storage.

I use Format.com for my website. I just use it for displaying my best photos, but it appears to have tools for storage, selling and downloading, though I couldn't see a printing service.

For the display for downloading I just use Adobe Lightroom. I have a Lightroom CC Classic subscription and store all my photos locally. I create 'collections' for each group, and sync that to the cloud at no extra cost - the cloud uploads only smart previews. I send family and friends a link to each collection and it allows downloads at around 2000 pixels on the long edge. I have to send a link for each collection (you can't send a master link which gives access to all the collections within a 'collection set'), and I realise this may not be what you want.

I checked my Flickr (paid account which allows to store online for something like two decades by now). For reliable storage and else service you have to pay for it.

So, your data will be stored. But you could use any nickname on visible part. Obviously Flickr is accessible everywhere, where it is not blocked.

Prints ordering is available, but honestly, for prints I'd go to the trusted shop with knowledgeable and experienced person.

From Flickr I could send selected photo to selected users at most common social media sites. As long as I have account where. Which again, doesn't need to blow all of the personal data.

Or if none of those with whom you want to share it are on social media sites you have two options. Mail and email.

I'm not storing anywhere online that allows AI (so-called*) bots to scrape my photos.

YMMV
