Did everyone else receive the camera yet? Double tap as it is described in the manual (and it works on the Qs) to reset the focus box to the center doesn‘t work for me - but it may be my fault… Can anybody verify this?

TIA

No, unfortunately not me because I cancelled my pre-order but am surprised that the manual is so many pages. I think I read in the quick start manual that the focus point box can be moved manually with the cursors. Bobby Tonelli who made the first YT video about the D-Lux 8 recently posted a follow-up video. At the end he complains about the constantly changing focus point box. On my D-Lux 7, a limited edition, I usually have the touch screen off. Hope you find a solution soon or somebody has a solution. Perhaps it needs a firmware update.

I get the same result - double tapping the screen just moves the focus point to the tapping point rather than centering it.

From reading the instructions, it looks to me that minimum shutter speed cannot be set to vary with focal length, increasing shutter speed with increasing focal length.

Can anyone confirm (or deny) my assumption?  Thanks!

  • 1 month later...

I just watched the Leica Australia video on Youtube where all the menu setting are described clearly and in detail. I found that more informative than the manual alone.

I am sure I remember the host mentioning the shutter speed increasing with focal length but I don't remember the exact details.

To the earlier point, I leave the touch feature for the screen turned off. As an aside, I am thoroughly pleased with the images from this camera.
