AceVentura1986 Posted June 29, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought an M10 this week and it seems stuck on ISO 1600. No matter what ISO I set on the dial or if I place the dial in M and set the ISO in software it stays stuck on 1600. This figure is consistent on both the camera menu and image EXIF info. To rule out user error, I checked my settings against my M10M and I’m able to change the ISO on that camera. Any thoughts or should I return it? Advertisement Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Hi AceVentura1986, Take a look here ISO stuck on 1600. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Siriusone59 Posted June 29, 2024 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2024 If a factory reset doesn't fix it, I'd send it back. Someone posted same problem a while back and iirc they had to send it back for repair.

The M10 was notorious for having the ISO dial break and they had to go back to get fixed. Rarely if ever does it happen on the M10R as they changed the design of the dial so it wouldn't break. I personally hate the pulling out of the dial. It should work as a push down to unlock and push it down again to lock. It shouldn't be a pull. It was a new thing because the M240 didn't have an ISO dial. First generation issues with the M10. Edited June 30, 2024 by crons
dugby Posted June 30, 2024 Share #4 Posted June 30, 2024 I seem to recall an odd combination of menu setting ISO and attempting to use the mechanical ISO dial on my M10-R which didn’t change the ISO as expected. Sorry I’m traveling without my M10-R so can’t play with variables to repeat the circumstances. I recall this occurrence is documented within earlier appends of this subforum

Interesting, I wasn’t aware of this. I’ll be exchanging it for an M10P later this week per arrangement with the store. Still, I assume the M10P has the same issue as it came out before the M10R. Is this correct?

I believe that it was an specifically M10 problem in the beginning.

Interesting. So, when the ISO dial is repaired does Leica reuse the same defective ones or do they install the newer ones from the M10R?

As far as i understand it, it is a one time fix and after that it should be fine..as you can see it is a thing Welcome, dear visitor! If you don't want to deal with Leica repairs and it's possible to return it and get another one then that would be probably faster. FWIW, they’ve been fantastic. As for changing in the menu, I agree that should be possible but I’ve tried it and can say that, in my case, it is not. The only real question, tho, is whether I exchange it for another camera today or have them send it to Wetzlar for repairs and a CLA. As I recall, when it returns it will carry a one-year warranty. That might be worth the wait. Edited July 2, 2024 by AceVentura1986

Regardless of the "gorilla glass", put a screen protector anyway.

The M10P is sitting upstairs in my office right now. must say, it’s a beauty and will make a great counterpart to my M10M. BTW, shout out to Leica Store Miami. They were a class act throughout the process and never gave me any issues. Special thanks to Josh and Jose.
