That's brass black paint though. Not sure about aluminum. 

I’ve had a grip on mine since the M7 back in the late 1990’s. 
 

I don’t like the hand feel without it.

That's a nice lens. I bought the 35mm f/1.4 for the Sony Mirrorless using an adapter, which inspired me to buy the Leica M 11-P. Now, I feel that's a bulky lens and considering a smaller alternative. Ideally, 35mm f/2 or the Leica 35mm f/1.4 (if Leica can remove the focus tabs). 

You should try to find a mint Nippon Kogaku W-Nikkor.C 35mm F1.8 LTM.
