Cunha Posted June 9, 2024 Share #1  Posted June 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I will soon receive the Leica Telyt 1:4/200mm, M39, from the old Visoflex Leitz system. I think this is an "M" lens?! 1. Which adapter do I need to use this lens on the GFX100s? 2. I also own a Canon EOS EF to GFX adapter with AF; if it is easier by this route...? 3. Is it possible to use this lens with a bellows, like the Novoflex BalPro 1 bellows with the Novoflex LTM to BalPro 1 adapter? Please suggest. Thank you in Advance for your help. Best regards

I think this is an "M" lens?! The lens is M39, not M, and fits a Visoflex I directly. This lens was used on M cameras with an OUBIO ring mounted to the Visoflex II or III. https://wiki.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/OUBIO You will need the OUBIO and then the lens can be mounted to an adapter Visoflex - GFX such as this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1457124-REG/kipon_viso_gfx_viso_to_gfx_adapter.html

Very nice of you. M39 is therefore a specific mount from that time. Is there no way to connect the M39 to a Fuji G mount or the EOS EF? Do I always have to put the OUBIO in the middle? dg4mgr Posted June 9, 2024 Share #4 Â Posted June 9, 2024 There is an adapter for Canon EOS that takes the Visoflex M39 directly, it kind of includes the OUBIO:Â https://fotodioxpro.com/products/l39v-ef-p You could also mount the lens to the bellows, if your bellows has the LTM (M39) mount. Not sure if infinity can be reached, give it a try.

farnz Posted June 9, 2024 Share #6 Â Posted June 9, 2024 Since your GFX has a medium format sensor, which is 44 x 33 mm, and the 200/4 Telyt-V was designed to cover a 36 x 24 mm film then you're likely to have a mismatch even if you manage to physically couple the Telyt to your GFX. The mismatch is likely to cause significant to severe vignetting at the edges of your pictures and you might need to 'throw away' many of your precious medium format pictures through having to crop. Pete.
Cunha Posted June 9, 2024 Author Share #7 Â Posted June 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) You're absolutely right and that worries me, but I have no way of knowing if it will be acceptable to me without testing it or seeing results from someone who has done it. An old tele lens, if it is medium format, from Pentax, Mamiya, Zeiss, etc., will no longer present this problem.
jaapv Posted June 9, 2024 Share #8  Posted June 9, 2024 I had one, I doubt that you will be happy with the results - I wasn't. Quite apart from the doubtful coverage.

My apologies - I meant to write "pixels" instead of "pictures" but the typo fairies had a little bit of fun. Pete.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted June 9, 2024 Share #10 Â Posted June 9, 2024 I have this lens, it is a Visoflex 1 lens. They are often sold with an Oubio adapters which help converting to M mount Viso 2 and 3 lenses. I got a Leica TZOON for mine, this is a 39mm female to mount to the lens and a 39mm male on the other end. Mine had a Leica 39mm to M mount. Then you just need a Leica M to GFX adapter. Rayqual makes an M Viso to Leica M tube. This can be used with the OUBIO and a GFX to M adapter. So 200 Telyt - OUBIO - Rayqual M Viso to M - M to GFX. All this said, I didn't find he 200 Telyt to be a satisfactory lens, soft in the corners of my CL (not even full frame) and fairly low contrast. The lens looks great clear optics etc.

They are slightly recessed into the body - from memory my was made by TTArtisan These won't work with the Telyt. They are made for M39 lenses that mount to a camera body. The Telyt fits to the Visoflex and needs ~ 62 mm more distance from the body.
