barnabythebear Posted June 4, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hiya, Just back from a three week trip, took loads of photos with the Q3 but 3 or 4 turned out like this. Is this a sensor issue, should I be worried? Thanks, Nige. Welcome, dear visitor! TeleElmar135mm Posted June 4, 2024 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2024 Looks more to a card with problems or a problem during transfer to the PC. How old is she and was she format in the camera? Are the pictures all right when you watch them in the camera?
bobtodrick Posted June 4, 2024 Share #3 Posted June 4, 2024 I’ll second that. Memory cards are cheap these days…I replace mine every year or two.
Bryan Goh Posted June 5, 2024 Share #4 Posted June 5, 2024 Had 1 of my photos with similar weird lines. Only happened that one time out of thousands of photos. Did not manage to find a reason, but doesn't seem like a major issue.
barnabythebear Posted June 6, 2024 Author Share #5 Posted June 6, 2024 Hi all, Thanks. This was a transfer to my Mac mini via a card reader. Not sure if it displayed like this before transfer when viewed from the Q3. The card is probably quite old, may have even had it with my original Q. I'd not considered that it may start to fail. Thanks all, Nige.
BradS Posted June 6, 2024 Share #6 Posted June 6, 2024 Yup, that's file corruption.
bobtodrick Posted June 6, 2024 Share #7 Posted June 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I do card recovery at our business. Gotta admit I’m always amazed at how many recoveries I do on generations old cards. People will spend multi thousands of dollars on cameras every year..,but not spend a couple hundred every couple years to keep their cards current 🤨

Get a new SD Card or card reader or both if they are over two years old.
