ALScott Posted April 22, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted April 22, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just opened a new, from Leica, 100-400 and the 1.4x and there are definitely dust specks inside the 1.4x extender. Â May be a dumb question but should I send it back? Â I keep reading things where people say "there is dust in every lens, etc. etc." Â I think I need to stop reading. Advertisement Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Hi ALScott, Take a look here Ugh. Brand new Leica lens question.. well 1.4x actually. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ALScott Posted April 22, 2024 Author Share #2 Â Posted April 22, 2024 Nevermind.... Keep looking at it and I can't be sure. Â I am going to choose to ignore until it is an absolute issue and enjoy my new Leica gear..... Â when I get a body. Â
jaapv Posted April 23, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted April 23, 2024 It won't have any effect on image quality, but you can have Leica clean it under guarantee. Just report it. OTOH, you can have it replaced.
Boojay Posted April 25, 2024 Share #4  Posted April 25, 2024 Will have zero impact but given you have no body, why not just get it changed while you wait😃.. you must be a very patient human being, the thought of all those lenses sitting doing nothing while waiting goodness knows how long would drive me nuts!!! I am not a patient person.  It is driving me nuts.  I just didn't want to finally get the body and then not be able to find lenses.
