I am in the research of a messenger bag in order to be distinctive. I will carry me Leica Q3, 2 batteries, Power bank, Ipad Air 11 inch, Ricoh GRII wit batteries and a small Notebook A6.

Ona Brixton is too big https://onabags.com/collections/messenger-bags/products/the-brixton

I haven't decided yet if the material will be leather or waxed canvas

I have already these bags

  • Wotancraft pilot travel camera bag 2L
  • Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L v2
  • Billingham Hadley Small Pro Black/Tan

Any suggestions?

Those ONA knockoffs look amazing!

I have an ONA "the Bowery" (cognac leather) and love it. But I've regretted not getting the dark brown one shortly after I got mine.
Tried to sell it at half price and nobody cared, lol..

I barely use it, because the light brown leather just doesn't please me anymore..

I did find that I could darken it by applying leather wax to the surface, at least for a short while. Been contemplating trying to darken it permanentely, though, since I would then probably use it more often, too.

That said, those knockoffs look just as awesome as the real deal, and they are sold at a reasonable price, too.

Have you tried using brown shoe polish to darken the leather? It make take a couple of applications to sink in; but it will be waterproof also!

Wotancraft Pilot 7L should be the perfect size, and has provision for an 11” iPad. Mine is en route as I type for an almost identical application.

You’ll love it. I’ve had mine now for a couple of months to go with the Q3.

I’ve always used a rucksack - a Millican Dave the Rucksack with a Billingham Hadley Small padded insert for the last 4 or so years - as I found that I always find something to buy when I’m out and about 😉. But when I got the Q3 I wanted to try something different and I am pleased that I did.

The 7L Wotancraft is ideal for the Q3 as, as you say, it can take an 11” iPad and everything else you could possibly need too, a cleaning kit, flash, spare battery and cards, charger/power bank and associated cables, filters, notebook and pen, wallet and phone. It also comes in a lovely cotton boot bag which fits neatly in the back pocket that satisfies my needs for most of my spontaneous purchases. It really is a great bag.

Enjoy in good health.
